Argentina Issued a New Resolution (Resolution 169/2018)

Argentina issued the new resolution (Resolution 169/2018), replacing Argentina's resolution 171/16 on electrical safety and will be implemented in June 2, 2018.

1. The range of controlled products is basically the same. The following products are not in the range:

(1) Medical equipment(now under ANMAT);

(2) The products used in the explosion environment;

(3) Products with voltage below 50VAC and 75VDC;

2. The following changes will also be implemented in the new resolution:

(1) no more importer information is required on the product label / packaging;

(2) According to Resolution No. 237/00, local agencies recognize foreign certificates through mutual recognition agreements and multilateral agreements of IECEECB schemes, allowing the use of CB certificates to issue S mark certificates (except for sampling to local tests or mutual recognition After the agreement process applies for certification, after the mandatory date, the Argentine Local Coordinating Agency (IRAM) will not be restricted by the MRA and may use the CB report issued by the coordinating agency of other countries for the transfer);

3. From 2020, products will be certified by Mark (products listed in Annex II of Resolution Rse.171/16) or Lot (if applicable). For some product types, it can still be authorized through the Type authentication mode;

4. The monitoring period has been extended to 12 months (Type) and 18 months (Mark);

5. Disp.178/00 requirements have been removed (sent to Argentina for local testing no longer requires the issuance of SDU Letters by issuing units), TAD establishes voluntary procedures Agency approval) to shorten the time for importing test samples;

6. Only parts and components that are courageous to manufacture or technical services can enter Argentina without restrictions;

7. The transfer of the certificate has been allowed, but the extension of the certificate to multiple importers has not been considered and needs to be reassessed.
