Revision of Radio Equipment Regulations in the United States
2017-09-15

Federal Communications Commission FCC recently updated wireless device control regulations. The modified locations include the original two FCC approval procedures: Declaration of conformity and validation are merged into one program called the Supplier’s Declaration of Conformity SDoC. Previously, some devices were not sure whether the DoC should be applied or the Verification program should be applied, and after the two programs were combined, there would be no such ambiguity. It also simplifies the approval process for products outside the Certification. One of the biggest changes is that the SDoC program no longer stresses that reports must be issued by accredited laboratories (Accredited, Lab). The SDoC program requires the product liability entity to include a compliance statement on the product document. The body of responsibility must be located in the United States. In the original DoC program, the FCC logo on the product is no longer required, but the FCC still allows the manufacturer to decide for himself whether to use the FCC mark on the product.

Other changes in this revision of regulations include product labeling requirements, import and measurement procedures: Class A Class B, the existing classification rules remain unchanged, namely non home environment equipment used for Class A devices, home environment equipment used for Class B devices, are suitable for different limit values. Changes to these specifications have entered into force.
