New Requirements for PCS Energy Efficiency (EE) Certification and Energy Labelling
2017-07-17

PCS have recently obtained further clarification on Energy Efficiency (EE) Certification and Energy Labelling requirements that will come into force on 1st September 2017 and 1st July 2018 in Belarus.

1.AC powered household electrical appliances will require EE Certification.

2.Certification can be obtained either via local testing or via a paperwork only process based on test reports issued by accredited ISO/IEC 17025 third-party testing laboratories.

3.Mandatory surveillance will be performed once every two years. A decision on whether the surveillance procedure will be performed based on the acceptance of CIG023 reports (paperwork only) or via local testing will be made at a later stage.

4.Certificates will be valid for 5 years.

5.Certain categories of equipment will be exempt from EE labeling requirements.

Although requirements for EE compliance will come into force on 1st September 2017 and 1st July 2018 depending on product scope, manufacturers can obtain EE Certification in advance and will be dated with the planned implemented dates. Products that have already been introduced on the Belarus market before 1st  September 2017 and 1st July 2018 will not be affected.
