Agência Nacional De Telecomunicações (ANATEL) released the ACT No. 4088 regarding labeling on 31st July, 2020, introducing the possibility of using QR codes for labeling purposes. This regulation replaces the ACT No. 2221 released in April 2020.

There will now be 4 formats to identify ANATEL approval for Telecommunication products:

1. ANATEL seal (ANATEL Logo and Homologation Code)

2. Word “ANATEL” followed by the Homologation Code

3. E-Label

4. QR Code

If an e-label is used and the product is intended for end users and consumers, it is still required to have a marking on the product packaging.

If a QR code is used, no matter what kind of product it is, it is also required to have a marking on the product packaging.
