Mexico IFT Published Amendments to Technical Standard IFT-011-2017 Part 2

According to the news released by MRT in September 2020, the Mexican RF regulator - Federal Telecommunications Commission (IFT) issued a public consultation concerning modifications to technical standard IFT-011-2017 Part 2 on September 8, 2020. For now, IFT has published an amendment to the technical standard IFT-011-2017 Part 2-VoLTE on February 12, 2021.
IFT-011-2017 Part 2 is the applicable technical reference for the current NOM-221/ 2-SCFI-2018 standard, contains Mobile terminal equipment operating in the 700 MHz, 800 MHz, 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, 1700 MHz/2100 MHz and/or 2500 MHz bands.
The amendment will enter into force on August 11, 2021. And some main points involved are summarized as follows:
1.Certificates of Conformity and Approval issued prior to the entry into force of these amendments will remain in effect until the term indicated.
2.Mobile terminal equipment should contain all the components that automatically suggest voice calls through the VoLTE functionality, which must be enabled and activated for users.
3.From the entry into force of these amendments, in the cases in which the Mobile Terminal Equipment do not have all the components that mentioned in point 2, then it must indicate this by marking or label that makes it clear and visible on its container, packaging, label, wrapping, traveling sheet or electronic record or marking (product software).
