China MIIT/SRRC Released New Regulation of 2.4GHz, 5.1GHz and 5.8GHz Bands

On 13rd October, 2021, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) released a new announcement "[2021] No. 129", which is a notification of matters related to radio management about strengthening and regulating 2400-2483.5MHz, 5150-5350MHz and 5725-5850MHz frequency bands.
The main contents summarized as below:
1. The radio transmitting equipment working in the 5250-5350MHz frequency band should adopt the transmission power control (TPC) and dynamic frequency selection (DFS) interference suppression technology, and the function option of turning off DFS shall not be set;
2. Wireless LAN devices with the function of public network IP address allocation should support the IPv6 protocol and enable the IPv6 address allocation function by default;
3. The 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz frequency band micro-power short-distance radio transmission equipment, in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology Announcement No. 52 in 2019;
4. The radio frequency technical requirements and interference avoidance technical requirements for radio transmitting equipment in the 2.4GHz, 5.1GHz and 5.8GHz frequency bands.
Announcement No. 129 will come into effect on January 1, 2022. From October 15, 2023, applications for type approval of radio transmission equipment must be implemented in accordance with the technical requirements listed in the announcement.
