The interpretation of the scope (Heisei 24・03·21 Business Bureau No. 1) clearly stipulates that portable lithium-ion batteries (mobile power supplies) will be regulated by the Electric Appliance Safety Law in the future and will be handled in accordance with the regulations of the Electric Safety Act.

Products imported into Japan must meet the requirements of the Japanese PSE regulations and be marked with a round PSE on the products that meet the requirements.

(1) Revision/Implementation: February 1, 2018;

(2) Transition period: January 31, 2019.

From February 1, 2019, it will not be allowed to produce, import or sell any mobile power source that does not comply with the requirements of Japanese PSE regulations.
