RSM Opens Public Consultation on Allocation of 24-30 GHz Spectrum
New Zealand's Radio Spectrum Management (RSM) has launched a public consultation to determine the long-term use of the 24–30 GHz spectrum band, for both satellite services and emerging 5G mobile technology.
The RSM is specifically seeking input on crucial technical matters to ensure the efficient use of this spectrum:
1. Spectrum Sharing: Options for how satellite services and mobile services can co-exist in the 26 GHz and 28 GHz bands.
2. Technical Requirements: Identifying key use cases and applicable technical parameters for new services.
The consultation period will be closed on November 28, 2025.
