Indonesia Sets up Changes to Renewal Certification Procedure
2019-01-02

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia issued Regulation No 7, 2018 that implements changes to the Type Approval Certification in Indonesia.

According to Part 8 of the Regulations, only a legal entity of Indonesia or a resident of the Republic of Indonesia can apply for certification of telecommunication equipment.

If any changes occur within the validity period of the certificate, the applicant has to inform the certification body as soon as possible, whereafter the certification body amends the certificate.

Following Part 10 of the Regulations, any telecommunications equipment certified within the SDPPI conformity assessment procedure needs recertification after the expiration of the certificate. It means, that it is necessary to submit a new application. After the recertification procedure, a new certificate and, as a consequence, a new certificate number are to be issued.

All this leads to the changes in the label (a new certification number must be added).

Nevertheless, it is necessary to modify the label only for the products that have not been imported to Indonesia before. For the products that have already been imported to Indonesia  (stored in warehouses or distributed in the market), it is not required to modify the label.
