On 29 August 2018, the Philippines issued Memorandum Circular 06-08-2018 amending Sections 1 and 2 of Memorandum Circular MC 03-05-2007.
It allocates the 6.0-8.5 GHz frequency bands for ultra-wide band (UWB) wireless devices.
UWB is defined by Recommendation ITU-R SM1755 as a technology for short-range radio communication involving the intentional generation and transmission of radio-frequency energy that spreads over a very large frequency range, which may overlap several frequency bands allocated to radiocommunication services. Devices, which use the UWB technology, typically have intentional radiation from the antenna with either a-10 dB bandwidth of at least 500MHz or a -10dB fractional bandwidth greater than 0.2.
