Brazil ANATEL Publishes New Act No. 17087 For Electrical Safety Regulation

On December 27th, 2022, the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes (ANATEL) in Brazil published the new Act No. 17087 to update the electrical safety standard for telecom devices and will repeal the existing act Act 950.
The purpose of the new act is to comply with the new marketing requirement, besides, the re-definition of parts of the existing criteria, the following are some updating points to note:
Devices directly connected to the main power (AC), the equipment marking must show the nominal voltage, current and/or power and frequency values. For devices connected to the main power through an external power adapter, the markings mentioned above must show on the power adapter.
Battery-powered equipment that allows its replacement by the user must have clear instructions in the user manual for carrying out this procedure.
The warning message for Class I equipment is obligated to be placed on the body of the product or in the user manual.
Mobile phones sold without a power adapter; the user manual must contain a guideline alerting to use only power supplies homologated by Anatel.
The new act will come into enforce on December 27th, 2023.
