27 February 2023, Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) has announced that Wi-Fi CPEs and IP Routers will be subject to security testing under the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE) portal starting from 1 July 2023.
The security testing/security parameters are specified in the Indian Telecom Security Assurance Requirements (ITSARs); for detailed reference of ITSARs, please refer to MRT IA news dated on 12 October 2022.
Please note that Manufacturers who have already obtained MTCTE certificates or applications are under process before 1 July 2023, it is a MUST to apply again for a new certificate that includes security testing to integrated certificates.
