On March 16, 2023, the State Administration of Market Regulation of the People's Republic of China issued the “No. 10 of 2023” - “Announcement on the implementation of Compulsory Certification Management for Lithium-ion Batteries and Other Products”.
The key points are as follows:
The State Administration of Market Regulation has decided to implement CCC certification management on lithium-ion batteries and battery packs used in electronic and electrical products, and mobile power supplies and power adapters/chargers used in telecom terminal products. Please note, at this stage, only lithium-ion batteries and battery packs for portable electronic products need to apply for CCC certificate; The mandatory certification requirements for lithium-ion batteries and battery packs used in other electronic and electrical products will be notified separately.
From August 1, 2023, the designated certification authority will begin to accept the CCC application for products newly included in the CCC mandatory list; From August 1, 2024, those products which have not obtained the CCC cert and mark shall not be delivered, sold, imported or used in other business activities.
