On September 6, 2023, the Agencia Nacional de Telecomunicacoes (ANATEL) of Brazil has released a public consultation Nº41. The main content of this consultation is about to approve and update the technical requirements and test procedures relating to the assessment of technical conformity of chargers used in cellular mobile phones.
The new Act will come into effect on the date of its publication and the application of its annex titled “TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND TEST PROCEDURES FOR EVALUATING THE CONFORMITY OF CHARGER USED IN CELLULAR MOBILE TELEPHONES” will become mandatory enforced from April 18, 2024, in the meanwhile, the current Act 3481 and the new Act 5159 released earlier will be revoked.
All parties concerned can submit comments and suggestions before November 14, 2023.
