On September 19, 2023, Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Information (SDPPI) announced a draft outlining the technical standards for telecom equipment and mobile devices. These standards are designed to harmonize with the latest LTE and International Mobile Telecommunications Technology Standards-2020. Stakeholders, including vendors and academics, are invited to provide input on this draft until October 1, 2023. The proposed standards will cover a wide range of equipment types and add important requirements, such as the necessity for unique IMEI numbers and a minimum 35% domestic component level (TKDN) for devices intended for the Indonesian market.
