Australia Adopts the Customer Equipment Safety Standard

The ACMA issued Telecommunications (Customer Equipment Safety) Technical Standard 2018 (the Customer Equipment Safety Standard) that adopts the following Australian/New Zealand Standards:

AS/NZS 60950.1:2015 – Information technology equipment – Safety, Part 1: General requirements (the 2015 industry standard)

AS/NZS 62368.1:2018 – Audio/video, information, and communication technology equipment – Part 1: Safety requirements (the 2018 industry standard)

This Industry Standard will totally replace the 2015 Industry Standard on February 15, 2022. However, up to this date, a manufacturer can confirm a product both under the 2015 Standard or the 2018 Standard.
