New Regulations for Batteries in Mexico
New requirements regarding maximum permissible mercury limits and cadmium for primary power units and batteries were established in Mexico. These requirements are represented in the Mexican official standard NOM-212-SCFI-2017.
The standard is applicable to primary power units and batteries that are imported to the Mexico.
Please note that if a battery is supplied as an integrated part of a device, it is out of the scope of the standard.
