Korea Introduces Two LED Lamps into Energy Efficiency Labeling Regulations

Converter embedded LED lamps and converter external LED lamps, which are now under control of High-efficiency appliance certification regulations, will be under energy efficiency labeling regulations from April 1st, 2018.

1.Types of energy management system in Korea.

(1) Energy efficiency labeling : Mandatory(refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners etc.);

(2) High-efficiency appliance certification : Voluntary(lighting equipments, electricity equipments etc.);

(3) E-Standby Power : Mandatory(computers, monitors, printers etc.).

2. From April 1st, 2018, these two kinds of LED lights will be mandatory: Converter embedded LED lights and converter external LED lights, if you want to produce or import LED lights to be sold in Korea, you must register the LED light before that date.
