China - New Version "Regulations On Radio Frequency Allocation" Officially Implemented

On June 27, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology ("MIIT") of the People's Republic of China issued a new version of Regulations on the Radio Frequency Allocation, which came into force on July 1, 2023, and the previous one “Regulations on the Radio Frequency Allocation (MIIT Decree No. 46)” which announced on February 7, 2018 has been abolished at the same time.
Compared with the previous regulations, the highlight of amendments in the new regulations are as follows:
1. MIIT has divided all or part of the 6425-7125 MHz frequency band for IMT (International Mobile Telecommunications, including 5G/6G) systems;
2. Clarify that the 79-81 GHz band for radio determination services will be prioritized for applications such as automotive radar.
