Vietnam Announces Decision To Ban Equipment Non-compliant With Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards

The Prime Minister of Vietnam has issued Decision No. 14/2023/QD-TTg to eliminate low-efficiency equipment and ban their development and importation. The decision applies to a range of equipment categories, including home appliances, office and commercial equipment, and industrial machinery. It will take effect on July 15, 2023 or April 1, 2025, depending on the product type and the effective date of the National Standards. It is crucial to note that the decision strictly prohibits the import, manufacture, and trade of equipment that does not meet the minimum energy efficiency standards set by the National Standards.
