British Spectrum Auction Falls Down
The British telecommunications regulator Ofcom recently released the final results of spectrum auctions.
O2 UK has invested heavily to obtain the 3500MHz-3540MHz spectrum block in the 3.5GHz band, and as the only winner in the 2.4GHz spectrum, it has acquired 2350MHz-2390MHz spectrum blocks in this band.
Three UK also added funds during the assignment phase, paying an additional £13.13 million to obtain 3460 MHz-3480 MHz spectrum blocks. The BT subsidiary EE also paid an additional fee during the assignment phase, acquiring 3540MHz-3580MHz spectrum blocks with a £1 million additional funding.
Vodafone has no additional funds and is directly allocated to 3410MHz-3460MHz spectrum blocks.
