Korea RRA Issues New Administrative Notice

Regarding Korea's EMC MSIP certification, RRA (National Radio Research Agency) has issued an administrative circular to be implemented on December 1, 2017.

This new rule does not affect existing IDs, so you can still use the original certificate number for a certified MSIP certificate without applying for changes.

The main changes are as follows:

1.The original MSIP certificate number begins with "MSIP" and will now be amended to read "R" (R = Radio Act);

2.The 14 digits of the model number in the MSIP certificate number may include: English, Arabic numerals, hyphens (-) and under-bar mark (_).

Note: The above provisions will take effect from December 1, 2017. As of June 30, 2018, "R" and "MSIP" may be used for the certificate number. However, as of July 1, 2018, "R" must be used at the beginning of the certificate number.
