Vietnam Releases New Information on Local Test Reports

Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) released the news that from 1st June 2017, 2G & 3G local test reports are no longer being accepted for Type Approval. Instead, applications for products with this technology must be accompanied by test reports for the 2G/3G portion which have been issued by recognised foreign labs and which are on the MIC’s MRA list specifically for 2G/3G technology.

However, following numerous complaints from local importers and local manufacturers on this new policy, the MIC are re-considering their decision and internal discussions are underway. It is expected that MIC will make their final decision shortly. Until a decision is made, it remains the case that local test reports for 2G/3G technology will not be accepted.
