TIM Launches Europe's First 4.5G Commercial Service
Italian telecom company TIM recently launched the first 4.5G service in Europe, the nominal download rate up to 500 Mbps.
Rome, Palermo and San Remo three areas of the user has been able to enjoy the past, fixed broadband to bring high-speed network services. But the current TIM only provides a Sony Xperia XZ a phone to support this service.
TIM's 4.5G service uses L-band (That is 1500MHz) and new but unspecified coding and modulation techniques as well as antenna systems to improve spectral efficiency.
"Starting today, our customers are surfing the web with the highest speed on a smartphone and enjoy 4K of content on the go without sacrificing video quality. For TIM, that means moving to 5G Another important achievement on the road." said TIM Consumer Director Stefano Azzi.
After the three cities, TIM also plans to launch 4.5G services in Naples, Milan and Turin, the operator has begun in these areas on-site testing.
