Vietnam MIC Releases Revised Draft On SAR Standard For Portable Radio Equipment

On July 8, 2024, Vietnam's Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) announced the revised draft of QCVN 134:2024/BTTTT for public consultation. This technical standard aims to regulate the specific absorption rate (SAR) for portable and wearable radio equipment.
The revised draft expands the mandatory product list to include DECT cordless telephone handsets, laptops, portable computers, and tablets. Previously, only mobile phones were covered under this standard.
The public consultation is open until September 8, 2024.
