Mexico IFT Opens Public Consultation For Compliance Of IFT Seal Usage

The Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) released 2 public consultations about the usage of IFT Seals with following titles and main changes: 

“Draft Agreement by which the Plenary of the Federal Telecommunications Institute modifies the Guidelines for the use of the IFT Seal of the Federal Telecommunications Institute on approved products, equipment, devices or apparatus intended for telecommunications or broadcasting”

i) Modify the general guidelines for printing, digitizing, or reproducing the IFT Seal on telecommunications or broadcasting products, equipment, devices, or apparatus that are homologated.
ii) Postpone the "Guidelines for the Use of the IFT Seal on Telecommunications or Broadcasting Products, Equipment, Devices, or Apparatus" to March 31, 2025. (MRT News January 12, 2024)

“Draft Agreement by which the Plenary of the Federal Telecommunications Institute modifies the Guidelines for the approval of products, equipment, devices or apparatus intended for telecommunications or broadcasting”

i) Permit the IFT Seal for both physical and electronic formats, aiming to reduce the time required for products to comply with the homologation guidelines.
ii) Clarify the compliance of the homologation guidelines, ensuring the variety of products to which physical or electronic marking or labeling applies.

All concerned parties can submit comments and suggestions before August 12, 2024.
