India Published MTCTE Updates in January

On January 2025, the Indian Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) announced updates to the Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment (MTCTE) framework. Key changes include:

1.    Extended Exemptions: Test parameter exemptions for broadband and telecom equipment, such as PON systems and Mobile Radio Trunking Systems, extended until June 30, 2025.

2.    ILAC Test Reports: Acceptance of test reports from internationally accredited ILAC labs (from non-border-sharing countries) for specific telecom products, the date of report should be issued within 2 years of the submission date.

3.    Amendments to MTCTE Procedures: Revised definitions for "Associated Models".
