India Suspended The Launch Of MTCTE Phase-III, Phase-IV And The Execution Of BIS Market Surveillance

On June 13, 2022, amendment notification was issued by Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC), the main information in this notification is subject to postponement of effective date of mandatory test and certification of MTCTE phase-III and phase-IV products-reg., which is notified by original notification “5-2/2021/-TC/TEC/112, dated on January 31, 2022”;
The key information of amendment notification, please find below,
a. The effective date of mandatory certification of MTCTE phase-III and IV will be postponed to July 1, 2023.
b. The date of acceptance of test reports issued by accredited lab will be postponed to June 30, 2023.
Please be noted that all other conditions and details indicated in original notification dated on January 31, 2022 shall remain unchanged.
On June 14, 2022, the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) published notification to suspend the decisions in “circular dated on April 28, 2022”, for cross-reference of original circular, please refer to published news by MRT team from below link;

The routine surveillance covered under CRS will be carried out still by MeitY, while BIS is advised to keep the surveillance process in abeyance. For those samples which are yet being tested, the surveillance cost will be returned.
