Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) issued two new notifications regarding Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecommunication Equipment (MTCTE) scheme, please find below summarized overview.
1. On 27 January 2023, TEC issued regarding testing of Base Station for Cellular Network as per ER under MTCTE
TEC gives out the clarification of Essential Requirements (ER) for Base Station for Cellular Network as below,
1) Radio conformance testing of Radio unit(s) of Based station may be done with any Baseband unit(s).
2) IT Safety test reports for Radio unit(s) or Baseband unit(s) belonging to a particular series/family, operating at the same frequency may be submitted as family approval, considering that the highest power consumption radio unit or baseband unit has been tested.
3) Test report(s) for EMI/EMC of each Radio unit and Baseband unit mentioned in the MTCTE application shall be submitted.
2. On 6 February 2023, TEC confirmed another extension of exemption pertaining to parameters of PON under MTCTE
The Protocol Test for any PON interface, with reference to each standard of interface that mentioned in PON ER (Essential Requirements); ECR (Energy Consumption Rating) parameter are exempted till 30 June 2023 or till further notice. For previous notification regarding exemption, please refer to MRT IA news dated on 19 September 2022.
