ISED Launches Public Consultation on RSS-252, Issue 3

ISED has released RSS-252, Issue 3 in draft form for public consultation. This standard defines the certification requirements for licence-exempt OBUs operating in the 5895–5925 MHz band using cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) technology for ITS applications.
Key Changes in Issue 3
1. Section 3.2 – Channel Allocation
The following allocations are introduced:
10 MHz channels: 5895–5905 MHz, 5905–5915 MHz, 5915–5925 MHz
20 MHz channels: 5895–5915 MHz, 5905–5925 MHz
30 MHz channel: 5895–5925 MHz
2. Section 3.3 – Transmitter Power Clarification
Confirms that power limits apply on a per-channel basis.
3. Section 3.4 – Unwanted Emission Limits
Modifies requirements for out-of-band and spurious emissions.
4. Editorial Updates
Minor edits and clarifications for clarity.
Consultation Timeline
The draft standard is open for comments until November 10, 2025.
