Niger ARCEP Certificate Validity Shortened to 3 Years

On February 18, 2025, the l' Autorité de Régulation des Communications Électroniques et de la Poste (ARCEP) of Niger issued Decree No. 00010/MCP/EN/SG/DL, amending the type approval regulation. The main updates are as follows:

 

1. The validity of the type approval certificate is shortened from 10 years to 3 years, but the existing certificates issued before February 18, 2025 will continue to be valid until the original expiration date.

 

2. The certificate format has been updated, and other detailed information such as manufacturer, importer/distributor information and equipment technical information (including frequency/conditions of use) will be added.

 

3. The following terminal and/or radio equipment are exempted from type approval:

 

-Portable equipment used solely for receiving sound broadcasting programs;

 

-Equipment for national defense and public security purposes.

 

4. ARCEP has the right to require applicants to provide samples and test them according to specific circumstances.
