Thailand Ends 2G/3G Device Approvals and Imports

In June 2025, Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) issued an announcement titled: “The Termination of Import, Inspection, and Certification of Telecommunications Equipment Using Only 2G and 3G Technology.”

The announcement will take effect on June 30, 2025. After this date, NBTC will no longer issue certificates for devices that operate solely on 2G or 3G technology. In addition, such devices will be prohibited from being imported into Thailand.
