Vietnam Drafts New Technical Regulation for 6 GHz Wi-Fi

On October 30, 2025, the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) of Vietnam started collecting public opinion on Draft National Technical Regulation on radio access equipment operating in the Wi-Fi 6 GHz band (QCVN xxx:2025/BKHCN).

The draft regulation specifies technical requirements and measurement methods for Wireless Access Systems/Radio Local Area Networks (WAS/RLAN) operating in the 5945 - 6425 MHz frequency band.

Key aspects of the draft regulation include defining two main equipment categories: Low Power Indoor (LPI), restricted to indoor use, and Very Low Power (VLP), which may be used both indoors and outdoors. The QCVN's technical provisions and measurement procedures are built upon the European standard ETSI EN 303 687 V1.1.1 (2023-06).

The public consultation will be closed on December 30, 2025, please note that currently there is no further information regarding estimated enforced date of this new regulation for Wi-Fi 6 GHz band (QCVN xxx:2025/BKHCN).
