China MIIT Adjustment for 700MHz Frequency Band Allocation

On 1st Apr 2020, China MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) published notification  “工信部无〔2020〕50 号”  concerning the frequency use plan for the 700MHz range to accelerate the development of 5G technology and promote the effective use of spectrum resources. This is effective immediately.

The major changes are as follows:

1) SRRC (State Radio Regulation of China) no longer accept any Type Approval applications for the usage 702-798MHz for radio and broadcasting. This is now in favour of 703-743MHz and 758-798MHz for FDD mobile communication systems.  

2) SRRC accepts the type approval applications of frequency range 702-798MHz under the local regulation “Interim Provisions on the Requirements for and the Verification and Administration of the Utilization Ratio of Radio Frequencies” (工信部无〔2017〕322 号). 

3) Technical Requirements and test methods for mobile communication system working for 702-798MHz will be released separately.
