Saudi Arabia Updates Technical Specification RI056

The Saudi Arabian Regulator Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) has now confirmed that Approved mobile handsets connected to a mobile network, and which are already on the market, must also meet the new requirements.

As a reminder, these are:

- Devices must support CBS Alert

- Devices must support VoLTE and VoWiFi (confirmation also needed that the vendor configuration for VoLTE and VoWiFi has been deployed in all Saudi mobile operator networks)

- Devices must support specific e-labelling requirements

CITC have confirmed that updates via software are acceptable to meet this requirement, and there is no need for re-certification.
