Vietnam MIC Release Draft Revision For Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BTTTT
On November 27, 2023, the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) of Vietnam issued a draft circular for public consultation on the revision and supplement of Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BTTTT (issued on May 31, 2023).
The key points of the draft are as follows:
1. Update some technical regulations in Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BTTTT, such as:
(a) The RF technical regulation for land mobile communication terminal will be updated from QCVN 117:2020/BTTTT to QCVN 117:2023/BTTTT with effect from 2024.07.01;
(b) The RF technical regulation for E-UTRA FDD mobile communication base station equipment will be updated from QCVN 110:2017/BTTTT to QCVN 110:2023/BTTTT with effect from 2024.07.01;
(c) The RF technical regulation for E-UTRA FDD mobile communication repeater will be updated from QCVN 111:2017/BTTTT to QCVN 111:2023/BTTTT with effect from 2024.07.01;
(d) In Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BTTTT, the radio frequency technical regulation that the equipment in Sections 2.2, 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8 of Appendix I and Sections 4.1 and 4.2 of Appendix II need to comply with, will be updated from QCVN 55:2011/BTTTT to QCVN 55:2023/BTTTT with effect from 2024.07.01.
2. Vehicular radar equipment operating in the 76 GHz - 77 GHz frequency band will only need to comply with the RF EMC technical regulation QCVN 18:2022/BTTTT, which means it no needs to comply with the RF technical regulation QCVN 124:2021/BTTTT.
3. Wireless charging equipment with customs codes 8504.40.19 and 8504.40.90 will no longer need to comply with the RF technical regulation QCVN 55:2011/BTTTT, but only need to comply with the EMC regulation QCVN 96:2015/BTTTT.
4. Restore the extreme condition testing requirements of some QCVN standards that were suspended in the previous Circular No. 10/2023/TT-BTTTT (released on September 5, 2023).
The draft circular is expected to take effect from April 1, 2024. All parties concerned can submit comments and suggestions to MIC before January 27, 2024.
