Botswana BOCRA Announces Exemption For Some Equipment

Following the review of Type Approval Guidelines 2023, the Botswana Communications Regulatory Authority has notified that the following equipment is exempted from type approval:
i. Personal Computers, laptops, Tablets, IoT etc. (embedded with Wi-Fi transceivers, Bluetooth transceivers, with the provision that the Wi-Fi transceiver, Wi-Fi5 CERTIFIED™ ;
ii. Receive only Equipment (FM/MW/SW Radios, Television, Satellite decoders, Set-top Boxes) ;
iii. Vehicle embedded RTTE (Bluetooth, navigation, remote sensors, Car Keys etc), should however ensure that RTTE operate in the appropriate frequency bands
iv. And GMPCS Mobile Satellite Terminals with “ITU” mark.
