Mexico IFT Updates IFT-011-2022 (Part 3)

Recently, the RF regulator of Mexico- Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones (IFT) has updated the “Technical Provision IFT-011-2022: Technical Specifications of Mobile Terminal Equipment That Can Make Use of The Radioelectric Spectrum or Be Connected to Telecommunications Networks. Part 3. Cellular Broadcast Service for Notification Due to Risk or Emergency Situations”.
The main changes are as follows:
 Modify the note of article 4.2
Channels allocated in Mobile Terminal Equipment for intended use of receiving Alert Messages must not be used for purposes other than those provided and avoid their use for advertising, promotional or other purposes. Likewise, channels 4380 (primary configuration) and 519 (secondary configuration) must be enabled and activated through MMI codes, which will be provided by the manufacturers of Mobile Terminal Equipment, or, where applicable, through a button in the ETM configuration.
 Modify subsection IV of section 2 of article 5.4- Test method to verify the channels for receiving Alert Messages in the Mobile Terminal Equipment
 Modify subsection II of section 4 of article 5.5- Test method to verify the Display Format of Alert Messages on Mobile Terminal Equipment
