Indonesia Plans To Introduce SAR Requirement For Telecommunication Devices

In late July of 2023, Indonesia's Directorate General of Resources and Equipment of Post and Information Technology (SDPPI) hosted an online session emphasizing the significance of meeting Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) criteria in telecommunications equipment certification. The SDPPI has revealed plans to gradually implement SAR standards for specific products from December 1, 2023 to August 1, 2025. Impacted products encompass cell phones, handheld and tablet computers, virtual reality devices, laptops, and certain wearable devices transmitting over 20 mW.
