Summary Of Updated Regulations From India BIS And TEC

Recently Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) released few updated notifications and clarification. Please find below summarized overview.
1. On 21 November 2022, BIS issued the notification regarding extension of the last date of implementation of IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022, the date of implementation is extended by six months till 17 June 2023.
2. On 16 November 2022, TEC issued the clarification regarding End of Life / End of Sale whole unit warranty replacement products under Mandatory Testing & Certification of Telecom Products (MTCTE); the clarification gives explanation that the products under MTCTE Phase III & IV, which’s “End of Life / End of Sale whole unit warranty replacement products” before mandatory certification date (1 July 2023) are not covered under MTCTE regime.
3. On 15 November 2022, TEC issued the notification regarding exemption pertaining to parameters of Repeater for Cellular Network under MTCTE. The LTE Repeater Station Parameters’ standard “3GPP TS 36.143. Annex-F8” under the Essential Requirements (TEC47782002) is under exemption until 30 June 2023 or till further notice.
