Bureau of Indian Standards Introduced Guidelines For Implementing Revised IS

Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) on 17 October of 2022 published guidelines with immediate effect for implementation of Revised IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022. The full title of IS 16333 (Part 3) is “Mobile Phone Handsets Part 3 Indian Language Support for Mobile Phone Handsets – Specific Requirements”, product category of BIS is defined as “Mobile Phones”.
The existing version IS 16333 (Part 3): 2017 will be valid until 17 December of 2022. Please note that before the date all registered licenses under “IS 16333 (Part 3): 2017” are required to switchover to “IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022”; the update may be completed by submitting conformance to IS 16333 (Part 3): 2022 through Test Report(s) issued by BIS recognized laboratory.
