Nepal NTA Opens Public Consultation on IoT/M2M Services

On 3rd December 2021, The Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) issued “Draft Regulatory Framework for IoT/M2M Communication” and launched a public consultation on this.
According to the Draft, The IoT/M2M service provider shall not install or connect any Terminal Equipment unless the Terminal Equipment is type approved from NTA. Also, the IoT service provider must host all servers used in providing IoT services and store all data within the territory of Nepal, and the provider must report to the NTA within five working days after becoming aware of the data breach.
All parties concerned can submit comments and suggestions to NTA before 1st January 2022.
