Argentina – Update to Electrical Safety Certification

On October 12, 2021, the Secretary of Commerce in Argentina issued Resolution 1038/2021, which announced the changes to the Resolution 169/2018 on Electrical Safety Certification.
The new resolution introduces the latest list of electrical products under 50V requiring Electrical Safety Certification.
1. Led lamps and led-mounted modules (From October 12, 2021);
2. Hand tools, and portable, lawn and garden machinery, which powered by electric motors (From October 11, 2022);
3. Manual equipment for skin and hair care (shavers, massage equipment, etc.) (From October 11, 2022);
4. Household electrical kitchen equipment performs functions of heating, cutting, processing or liquefaction of food or beverages (From October 11, 2022);
The surveillance periodicity for certificates schemes have been revised by Resolution 1038/2021:
1. For S-Type (System No. 4) Certification Scheme surveillances will be required every 6 months;
2. For S-Mark (System No. 5) Certification Scheme surveillances will be required every 12 months.
