Mexico IFT Opens Public Consultation on Modification of Telecommunications and Broadcasting Conformity Assessment Procedure

On 21st April 2021, RF regulator of Mexico - Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones(IFT) has opened a public consultation on modification of Telecommunications and Broadcasting Conformity Assessment Procedure.
The modifications considered by IFT mainly include the following:
1.At the request of the holder of the certificate of conformity, importers/distributors may be incorporated to make use of same CoC;
2.Regarding on per technical standard the applicant needs to provide one mandatory sample only, and the second sample could be submitted optionally;
3.The validity of the test report sent to IFT has been changed from 60 days to 90 days;
4.It is proposed to include procedures for the certification of used, second-hand, rebuilt, and / or reconditioned or similar Products.
The consultation will be opened until 19th June 2021, during which all parties concerned can submit their opinions and comments to IFT.
