South Korea Publishes Changes in Conformity Assessment Procedure for Telecom Equipment

The National Radio Research Agency (RRA) of South Korea released Notice №2019-12 with the amendments to the Conformity Assessment of Broadcasting and Telecommunications Equipment.

 The key points include:

1. Reclassification of Conformity Assessment Type for some equipment including three conformity assessment types (Conformity Certification; Conformity Registration; Interim of Conformity (Verification)).

2. Other system improvements, for example: Simplification of conformity assessment procedures and documents.

3. Revision of labeling requirements. If a manufacturer does not attach the KC mark (it was mandatory before) on imported products, it can pass custom clearance. However, the importers must provide the KC mark sticker to the end-user to place this KC mark sticker on the imported product surface.
