Indonesia Releases New News

Indonesian regulator Direktorat Jenderal Sumber Daya dan Perangkat Pos dan Informatika (SDPPI) released a message in September this year, implementing several changes to the type approval process. The main changes are as below:

1. A paperwork only Approval process (SDoC) is now available for all product types.

2. All Type Approval applications now require a local importer—such as a local office—to act as the applicant/holder.

3. SDPPI will no longer accept renewal requests for any Type Approval certificate approaching the end of its 3-year validity period. Manufacturers are now required to file brand new Type Approval applications for any such products.
