Vietnam Updates Customs Cearance Issues Related to Radio and ITE Products

Customs Authority has been in line with MIC to solve custom clearance issues regarding radio and ITE products.

Although MIC has released official letters No. 2304/BTTTT-CVT dated 01 July 2018 (content is same as official letters No. 2304/BTTTT-CVT which MIC informed importers)  to inform General Department of Vietnam Customs regarding procedure and document requirements for customs clearance of radio and ITE products under management scope of MIC Vietnam, there are still some issue. In certain Customs port, after submitting “Product Quality Inspection Registration form” acknowledged by VNTA, product were temporarily customs cleared only. Customs officers still required importer to submit “Result of Product Quality Inspection Registration” issued VNTA for final customs clearance.

On 21 August 2018, MIC Vietnam has released the second letter No. 2765/BTTTT-CVT to General Department of Vietnam Customs. Finally General Department of Vietnam Customs has been in line with MIC and “Product Quality Inspection Registration form” acknowledged by VNTA will be sufficient for Customs clearance. All matters the regarding granting Type Approval or Declaration of Conformity will be managed and controlled by VNTA.
