Telkomsel Bid for 2.3GHz Spectrum Auction in Indonesia
According to reports, the Indonesia 2.3GHz spectrum auction, state-owned mobile operator Telkomsel offered one trillion rupees ($73 million 900 thousand), Indosat Axiata XL beat four other operators, access to 30MHz spectrum.
It is reported that Telkomsel needs to pay two times the bid price in ten days, that is, two trillion rupees as prepayment, and pay the annual license fee.
Telkomsel Telkom, a state-owned enterprise, is the largest mobile operator in Indonesia, with 178 million subscribers and 150 thousand base stations in the country, PT. The bid will help Telkomsel expand 30% of its network capacity.
According to government regulations, Telkomsel is not allowed to participate in the 2.1GHz spectrum auction starting next week. By then, Indosat, XL, Axiata and Hutchison will compete for two 2.1GHz spectrum for three companies.
