Preparatory talks on 4G auction held in Taiwan

It is reported that the Taiwan Communications Commission (NCC) will soon announce a list of eligible candidates for the 4G spectrum auction.

Taiwan third 4G spectrum auction will start in the end of the month, as part of the preparations for the review committee, group members and telecommunications company representatives have met last week. Asia Pacific Telecom chairman Lv Fangming, Taiwan Mobile chairman Cai Mingzhong, the star of Taiwan President Zhao Guoshuai, President Xu Xudong and the Chinese telecom FETnet President Zheng You to attend the meeting.

In order to safeguard the citizens' right to use digital services, the government requires telecom companies to participate in the auction on the premise of improving the performance of 4G in remote areas. Lv Fangming, President of Asia Pacific Telecom, believes that the government should encourage the construction of base stations, share the frequency and network, and save the cost of infrastructure construction, which can be used to develop new applications, such as Internet of things.

Lv Fangming said that the company should strive for 1800MHz and 2100MHz frequency, hoping to gain at least 10MHz bandwidth in the auction. Asia Pacific Telecom has deployed more than 10000 base stations, the next step will focus on small base stations, in order to improve business coverage.
