Uruguay Auction LTE Spectrum
The Uruguay auction ended last week, with two participating companies, America Movil and Telefonica, with an additional 4G spectrum for $66 million 100 thousand.
The Uruguay Telecom regulator, Ursec, was auctioned in three phases on the same day, but the bidding price remained unchanged from the first fourth rounds until the third round of the third phase.
According to Ursec news, America Movil received two $10 million 100 thousand 700MHz band spectrum, as well as two $7 million 500 thousand 1.7/2.1GHz band spectrum, a total cost of $35 million 200 thousand. Each spectrum is 2*5MHz and the licence is valid for 20 years.
Telefonica successfully obtained three 700MHz band spectrum, the first two units priced at $10 million, and the final piece of $10 million 900 thousand, totaling 30 million 900 thousand dollars.
The auction still has three 1.7/2.1GHz band spectrum failed to sell.
